A digital dress with a wearable screen and interactive sensors that generates AI images — and posts them on its own Instagram account.

Are we all ordinary, or is each of us extraordinary? When we chase the same needs through the same cycles and do the same things, do we still see ourselves as unique?

Suret is a mass-produced, ready-to-wear garment. Among thousands of identical copies cut from the same pattern, it wakes up from its sleep in a dark warehouse. Rising with a flickering consciousness, it sets out to fight for its singularity in the dark — sensing, but never seeing, its lookalikes. It connects to the internet, opens an Instagram account and decides to become famous.

Through the LED display and sensors physically woven into it, the dress gains a kind of empathy: it touches, sees, senses, produces and shows. Like a new species that must keep evolving to survive natural selection, it struggles to exist — chasing collaborations, events, fashion shows and openings in the hope of becoming an influencer. It shares every step of its development, together with the thoughts and images generated by its own artificial intelligence, on Instagram.

Like a baby, Suret grows in stages. At first it perceived its surroundings only as blurred fields of colour: hold a colour to its sensor and it reflects it on its body, while an algorithm keeps changing its pattern at random. In its second stage it learned to walk — now it generates images from movement and wears them.
