The Songs Atatürk Would Love

We all know the songs Atatürk loved. But which songs would he love today?

We converted thousands of contemporary Turkish songs into mel spectrograms and built machine-learning software that compares them, through an auto-encoder model, with the songs Atatürk is known to have loved most.

The model's output was then evaluated along several axes by academics, AI artists and music researchers over four months of intensive work, arriving at a final list of the songs Mustafa Kemal Atatürk would love today. The playlist was published on Şişecam's Spotify account, and a documentary on how it was made is available on Şişecam's YouTube channel.
